Valtra 60th anniversary celebration

Valtra celebrated its 60th anniversary at the Paviljonki exhibition centre in Jyväskylä, Finland, on January 26th 2011.  The event offered a peek into the future of farming and life in general.

About 450 members of the public, press, suppliers and customers from 25 countries followed the invitation to Valtra’s Future Seminar and evening gala. During the seminar some of the world’s most distinguished futurologists shared their views and ideas on how we will live and work in the future. David Smith from Global Future and Foresight introduced interesting ideas about how we will live, eat and work in the future. Prof. Sirkka Heinonen of the Future Research Centre Finland (University of Turku) shared her views about agriculture in the future. Futurist and author Ray Hammond discussed challenges and opportunities of future energy supplies. The last part of the seminar was dedicated to agricultural technology. Kimmo Wihinen, Pekka Ingalsuo and Luis Teles offered Valtra’s views on the requirements for agricultural machinery in the future.

The celebration was followed by an evening gala for which AGCO CEO Martin Richenhagen held the festive speech. The culmination of the event was the introduction of Valtra’s very own vision of the future – the revolutionary ANTS concept.
