Reliable SisuDiesel engines N Series tractors are powered by Valtras fourcylinder 4.4
and 4.9 litre SisuDiesel engines. The 4.9 litre engine is
based on the large 7.4 litre
long-stroke SisuDiesel engine. It therefore features many of
the design advantages of the 7.4 litre engine. Torque has been
increased by around 10 percent across the range compared to
corresponding engines in previous models. Four N Series
models feature Common Rail fuel injection and transport
boost for extra power when needed. The range also features
an efficient and economical EcoPower model.

SISUDIESEL ADVANTAGES
Extremely durable and reliable
4.9 liters engine has many same components as
7.4 litres SisuDiesel engine:
- pistons, liners, connecting rod
Low maintenance costs
- 500-hour oil change intervals
Best power-to-weight ratio among tractor engines
Low fuel consumption
Low heat load extends lifespan of engine
Common Rail engines meet EU stage 3A and EPA
Tier III emissions
standards
High torque at low revs
Quiet and pleasant engine sound
Excellent cold-start properties
|

|
|
Electronic engine management (EEM) enables the use of cruise
control, which allows the driver to preset the ideal work
speed according to either the driving speed or the PTO
speed.

Common-Rail fuel injection (N101-N141)
Common Rail engines offer high levels of torque across a
broad range of speeds, combined with low emissions and good
fuel efficiency. CR engines work together seamlessly with
the electronically controlled Powershift
transmission, maintaining low engine speeds and fuel
consumption.
CR engines provide high fuel injection pressure regardless
of engine speed. The fuel can be delivered in several stages
during a single ignition, making the engine idle extremely
smooth and pleasant to the ear. CR engines also react
quickly to changes in load, creating a smoother ride and
reducing the need to change gears. The high torque of CR
SisuDiesel engines is achieved already at low revs, and
torque levels remain high even if the revs drop while
working. Maximum power is achieved already at 2000 rpm.

|
Low idle speed (650 rpm)
The low idle speed (HiTech and Advance) is a Valtra
innovation.
When the tractor is parked and the handbrake engaged, the
engine
speed drops to a pleasantly quiet 650 rpm. |

Ecopower
The Valtra N111 EcoPower model offers fuel savings of 10-15
percent by lowering the engine speed. The average piston
speed is 20 percent
slower than in regular engines. The lifespan of the engine
is correspondingly extended. Wet cylinder liners and
intercooling also extend the lifespan of
SisuDiesel engines. In practice, the Valtra N111 EcoPower
model means significantly lower workhour costs,
environmental friendliness and low
emissions. An added benefit is the reduction in engine noise
by 4-5 decibels.

Two Tractors In One
New feature in EcoPower is the option to switch between the
efficient Eco mode and the standard Power mode.
|
 |
|
Eco Mode with genuine
EcoPower features
Rated speed 1800 rpm
Fuel savings up to 10 %
Lower noise level
Lower piston speed, increased
engine life
Very high torque, even at
1000 rpm
Wide, constant torque range
Eco Mode is recommended:
For maximising fuel efficiency
For soil preparation
For all utility work
For variable work
For 540 PTO work |
|
Power Mode offering approximately the same power but
including transport boost
rated speed 2200 rpm
Transport boost 11 hp (8 kW)
Top speed 50 km/h or 40 km/h
EcoSpeed depending on
specification
High PTO power
Power Mode is recommended:
For heavy PTO work
For high average speeds in hilly
conditions
For high hydraulic output |

Ecospeed
EcoSpeed is based on the 50-km/h transmission, but the
highest speed is limited to approximately 40km/h (max
possible speed is 43km/h depending on load).
Engine speed at max speed of 40 km/h is around 1800 rpm
depending
on tyre size
Speed with H4, Delta PS 2nd gear: 40 km/h at 2200 rpm
Speed with H4, Delta PS 3rd gear: 40 km/h at 1800 rpm
Lower fuel consumption
Lower noise, less wear
Available for N111e-N141 models
Note that the speed chart for EcoSpeed models is the
same as for 50-km/h models apart from the limitation in H4
to 40km/h.
