Transmission
Modern Driveline Technology for on
the road and in the field
The S Series driveline consist of a turbine clutch and a computer controlled semi-powershift transmission with 10 speed ranges, six at normal and four at creeper speed area providing top class efficiency and flexibility to cope with different requirements of versatile working tasks. A 50 km/h rear axle ensures high capacity in
road transport.
Minimised shifting
Powerfull, high torque engine controlled by electronic engine management (EEM), together with the combination of turbine clutch, cruise control and powershift automatics minimises the manual gear shifting. Thanks to the turbine clutch there is no need to use the lowest gears for take off, and in the road speeds wide speed ranges are covered by the powershift. Pedal free HiShift-clutch and comfortable HiTech shuttle further improve the driving comfort.
Turbine Clutch
The large, service free constant volume turbine clutch gives possibility to accelerate smoothly from standstill up to 1300 engine revs, at which point, the turbine has practically no slip. The accelerating strategy works as well in field work with ploughs and cultivating implements as it does starting with heavy trailers. With the turbine clutch providing soft starts it is saving the driveline, implement and operator from any transmission shock loads.
Power Shuttle
Changing the driving direction goes smoothly by HiTech power shuttle, controlled by a steering column lever with integrated parking brake or alternatively by a rocker switch in the armrest. Parking brake will always be automatically engaged when the engine is stopped. In Manual mode there is the possibility to program which powershift step will be engaged after shuttle operation. This is a great help e.g. in headland operations.
Powershift
The smoothly shifting four-step powershift ensures enough speed options at field working; e.g. there is 11 speeds in working speed range 3 to 12 km. Also the powershift steps are sufficient for all types of work. Speeds from 4 to 10 km/h are easily available without clutch. Respectively in road driving the driver can start smoothly with gear 4 or 5 depending on the load, shift upwards by powershift and then shift to the highest speed range by pedalfree HiShift button clutch and then achieve the full travel speed by powershift.
Besides manual control, the powershift has two automatic modes.
Auto 1 is programmed to optimising the performance and economy from the tractor both in the field and on the road. Therefore Auto 1 changes powershift according to the load, trying to keep fuel consumption low by selecting the optimum powershift gear.
Auto 2 can be programmed by the operator to match a specific work requirement or personal style of driving. Auto 2 uses the most suitable powershift step for optimising the performance. Shifting
takes place according to the engine speed only. Shift up and shift down engine speed limits are easily programmed by the operator to suit the current application.
Front axle 4WD
Front axle automatics help to control the slip because four-wheel-drive and differential lock connect and disconnect automatically according to the wheel slip. In the headland turns both functions are switched off and on again following the change of the steering angle.
The front axle can be selected as either suspended or rigid. Because of the balanced frame of the S-Series, even driving with the
standard axle it is comfortable and safe.
Front axle suspension
With the hydro-pneumatic suspension, the traction in field conditions
is better and higher speed can be kept on farm roads both during the transportation of loads and carrying of implements. The front axle suspension system provides an automatic central position,
active adjusting when driving and in addition a manual height adjustment to provide control and adjustments for example when operating with front mounted equipment.
