Diary: Skovde. February 28 th 2004. 8 p.m.
29.02.2004The Valtra M120 is 200 kilometres far from Gothenburg that it will very likely reach at night time. So far there hasn’t been any technical problems, the fuel consumption remains stable at about ten litres per hour and no decreases of lubricant level have been noticed.
M120 EcoPower needs about 10 litres in hour when driving on the road.
Furthermore this part of the trip has been more quiet than in Finland. The Swedish roads are in fact completely free from snow and this allows the pilots to devote all of their attentions to the traffic, on Swedish main roads definitely higher that in Finland. The scariest are big trucks, 50 tons and 24 meters length that drive more than 80 km/h often grazing very close the tractor.
It would be ideal to enter the highway and drive on the hard shoulder, but the highways are forbidden to the tractors in Europe.
Air ventilation and heating system are working fine all the time. For the whole trip the temperature in the cabin always kept at around 21 degrees as set by the pilot, regardless from external climatic conditions, and thanks to the several ventilation nozzle designed by Valtra the windows are always free of mist and ice.
