Diary: Norimberga, March 1st 2004

02.03.2004

The Valtra "M 120 e" engaged in the ride Suolahti-Verona, three thousand kilometres non stop, is almost 12 hours earlier than the schedule and it risks to reach Verona the day before the inauguration of Fieragricola, the most important agricultural fair of the year.

For this reason the crew has decided to take a stop in Munich, which should be reached in the first hours of the evening. The trip goes on without obstacles, in spite of some difficulties in finding the right way among many main roads which are typical of Germany. Indeed this problem, that in the beginning caused some unwanted diversions, has been overcome thanks to a wise planning of the GPS which usually avoids the standstills needed when using the normal road maps. Technology helps therefore the trip of the tractor, and it could not have been otherwise since the tractor itself is a Valtra product and talking about technology it offers the best in the field of modern agricultural mechanisation. It is worth to remember that the tractor has a complete electronic management control, even for gear changing, since the three steps powershift is preprogrammable and automatic and has allowed the pilot to forget completely about the transmission since the first start of the tractor.
