Scheibe men watch their own tractor being built at the factory
16.04.2007Father Rainer and sons Frank and Robert Scheibe drove all the way from the island of Rügen off Germany’s Baltic Sea coast to the Valtra factory in Suolahti, Finland to watch their new tractor being built. As the men arrived at the assembly line their tractor was just coming out of the paint shop.
Markku Vornanen, Marketing Manager at Valtra, shows Robert, Rainer and Frank Scheibe their new T170 Classic on the production line.
“This is a great moment – it’s hard to describe in words,” commented Rainer as the tractor appeared through the paint shop’s doors.
The Scheibe family cultivate 580 hectares of crops, including rape, wheat and oats, in the northernmost corner of Germany. The family’s new Valtra T170 Classic, which was specified with front axle suspension and front linkage, will be used for ploughing, spraying, harrowing and transporting.
“We have heard about good experiences with Valtra tractors – their engines and Scandinavian quality in particular are widely praised. Our nearest dealer is located in the centre of Rügen Island, just 45 kilometres from our farm,” the Scheibe family tells us.
Rainer and his 26-year-old son Frank run the farm together with the help of 12-year-old Robert.
“The factory seems modern, calm and efficient. It’s really interesting to be able to see our very own tractor being built.”
