Valtra further increases production volumes

17.05.2002

So far the year in progress has been a time of increasing demand for Valtra. Sales of Valtra tractors have grown steadily on the entire global market and the order book has continued to increase.

The output at the tractor plant in Suolahti, Finland was raised already in March by about 10 percent. A similar increase will be made at the end of this summer due to improved demand.

Demand has been greatest for the HiTech models, which constitute clearly more than half of the output in Suolahti. These models have been well received also outside Finland. The Finnish Valtra tractors have been successful in international tests.

The recently introduced environmentally friendly 6750 Eco Power model has become the clearly most sought-after HiTech tractor. Besides the increase in demand, also the size of the manufactured tractors have increased.

In addition to the plant in Suolahti, Valtra has a plant of almost the same magnitude in Mogi das Cruzes, Brazil. Demand is good at the Brazilian plant as well.

More than 16,000 Valtra tractors were manufactured last year, of which 9,000 in Suolahti Valtra conducts exports to more than 80 countries from the two plants.
