Powerful new City XM articulated tractor
06.09.2004The Valtra XM articulated tractor is now available with the same City specifications that are also available on other X Series tractors. The City XM models are available with either 130 or 150 horsepower.
City front loaders feature a plate construction and the frame is attached directly to the body, just as on wheel loaders. This allows for significantly heavier loads. Lifting power in the lower position is 3400 kilos, which is almost twice as much as normal tractor front loaders.
City models have a 70-litre oil tank and additional load-sensing pump located in the nose of the tractor. The tractor’s own hydraulics work seamlessly with the front pump. The calculated combined output is as much as 190 litres per minute. In practice the output is over 160 litres per minute, depending on the implement being used. The combined hydraulics allow for the simultaneous use of several implements, even at low rpm’s. City models come with a heavy-duty industrial front axle. The stiffness of the front axle helps prevent lateral movements, which in turn facilitates front-loader work. The driver can adjust the stiffness of the front axle.
Customers can choose from four available attachment plates. The quick couplings on the loader can be connected directly to an implement equipped with two hydraulic cylinders. Hydraulic bucket/implement locking comes as standard equipment. The loader can also be specified with a motor hydraulic valve and zero pressure return oil pipe. Studies prove that articulated tractors are more efficient than fixed chassis tractors. For example, front-loader work in tight spaces is approximately 50 percent faster with an articulated tractor.
