X series - the articulated solution for forestry, farming and communes
11.11.2001The articulated X series is based on the four cylinder HiTech models of 100, 110 and 120 horsepower. Because of its specific features it beats the traditional tractors and competes well even with more expensive special machines on their own home field.
X series models are designed to operate in three different working areas: forest work, communal work and the traditional agriculture. Because of different options contracting is possible on all these operation areas. This is again one feature which beats the other rigid competitors and special machines.
The X series consist of X100, X110 and X120 models. The articulated machines has been made of Valtra standard tractors by replacing the central frame with a steel structure including the pivot for articulated steering. In the front part of this piece there is a hydraulic oil tank of 80 litres and at the rear part a fuel tank of 135 litres. X120 weights with full tanks 5610 kg.
Valtra X Agri for farming and field
On farms and cattle farms are tight places, where driving with a rigid machine takes time and is many times almost impossible. As a loading machine for open silos many times a wheel loader must be bought, whose use and fitness for other jobs is limited. X series also solves this problem: The machine is registered as a tractor; it is at the same time a wheel loader, which has both independent PTO and linkage. It can pull the trailers, as well.
Valtra in the forest
As a forest machine and equipped for example with harvester the articulated machine is excellent in thinning of the young forest. Because the joint point of the frame is in the middle of the wheelbase, the rear wheels follow exactly the tracks of the front wheels and the damages on the forest ground remain less than driving with a rigid machine. As a forwarder the terrain ability and the small turning radius help and speed up the work. The forest cab and TwinTrac reverse drive control which are options make working easier and more effective. Compared with actual forest machines the purchase price is considerably lower and the tractor can be driven normally on the road which saves time and money. The Continental European way of handling timber is based on long timber, which means skidding with wire rope winches. Also here the X series shows its superiority and positive feedbacks have been got, especially in Germany.
Valtra X City – solution for asphalt
On the communal side the X series models are excellent in public works. The agility on street crossings and in other places where the space is limited is based on the tight 4.5 meters turning radius. Equipped with reverse drive control the X series can manage in communal works both in summer and winter. The Heavy Duty loader is used by the load-sensing pump of 132 litres in front of the engine which ensures to the loader a lifting force of 3 700 kg. The loader can also be equipped various implements like a brush.
