One Tractor. Two Extreme Challenges.
Together with our partners Nokian Tyres and Väderstad Valtra set out to answer a simple question: can the same tractor perform at high speed and still deliver the precision required for demanding field work? Both extreme challenges shared the same principle: use a genuine production tractor designed to carry out real agricultural work.
FASTEST TRACTOR AROUND THE RED BULL RING?
In collaboration with Nokian Tyres, the first challenge took place at Austria’s Red Bull Ring. The 6th-generation T Series achieved a Red Bull Racing verified speed of 87 km/h and set the fastest tractor lap round the Red Bull Ring, with a time of 3:36.4 minutes.
40 KM/H SEEDING WITH 95% ACCURACY?
Conducted with Väderstad under realistic field conditions, the challenge used a production 6th-generation Valtra T Series tractor and Väderstad Tempo planter to reach a record highest planting speed of 40.125 km/h while maintaining more than 95% accuracy.
RECORD FAST PRECISION PLANTING AND HIGH-SPEED TRACK RESULTS
Valtra’s new T Series Achieves Record Fast Precision Planting and High-Speed Track Results.
New Valtra 6th-generation T Series demonstrates both high-speed performance and precision farming capability through two extreme challenges in Austria and Germany.
Together with partners Väderstad and Nokian Tyres, Finnish tractor manufacturer, Valtra set out to answer a simple question: can the same tractor perform at high speed and still deliver the precision required for demanding field work?
To demonstrate this, Valtra used the same tractor in two very different challenges. The first took place at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, where the tractor was driven in a documented speed challenge under test conditions. The second took place in Germany, where the tractor partnered with a Väderstad Tempo planter in a high-speed precision corn planting demonstration under real farming conditions.
Together, the projects were designed to demonstrate that modern tractor and implement performance is not defined solely by speed or solely by precision. Instead, the focus was on showing how transport performance, intelligent power delivery, precision technology and practical farming capability can be combined in a single machine.
High-speed performance at the Red Bull Ring
The first challenge, in collaboration with Nokian Tyres, took place at Austria's Red Bull Ring. During the filmed event, the tractor achieved a Red Bull Racing verified speed of 87 km/h. The T Series now holds the official record as the fastest tractor round the Red Bull Ring with a lap time of 3:36.4 minutes. Valtra has got racing running in its veins as a total of 13 rally world championships have been won with the Valtra logo on the racing overalls, and Valtra has continued the partnership with world-known racing champions for decades.
High precision Planting at more than 40 km/h
The second challenge moved from the race circuit directly to a working farm in western Germany.
Conducted in collaboration with Väderstad, the project focused on high-speed precision corn planting under realistic field conditions using a production tractor and planter.
Field preparation, agronomic setup and planting parameters were carefully managed to ensure realistic operating conditions and meaningful performance data.
The tractor and Väderstad Tempo planter combination achieved a highest measured planting speed of 40.125 km/h while maintaining planting accuracy of more than 95%. During the high-speed precision challenge a mixed variety was planted using an application map, demonstrating the use of multiple technologies at high speed. Speed was measured using light-barrier timing equipment installed on several planting passes. The Valtra T Series executed the high precision planting with the PTx guidance system.
The project was designed around the principle that speed alone is not enough. The objective was to demonstrate "accuracy at 40 km/h" and show what modern farming technology can achieve when high operating speeds are combined with agronomic precision.
One tractor, one story
While each challenge demonstrated different aspects of machine performance, the strength of the campaign lies in the combination of the two projects. The Red Bull Ring challenge demonstrated transport speed and performance capability in a controlled and verified setting. The Väderstad collaboration demonstrated precision agriculture performance under working field conditions. Together, they show how the production Valtra 6th-generation T Series is designed to deliver performance across a broad range of tasks.
"The most important takeaway from these challenges is what they demonstrate for farmers. The all-new 6th-generation T Series showed that it can combine speed, precision and intelligent operation across very different tasks. Farmers need machines that adapt quickly, respond predictably and help them make the most of every working hour. These demonstrations show how the technologies behind the T Series work together with advanced implements to deliver exactly that. Valtra is a brand seeking always to push the boundaries with our farmer-first mindset and doing so with our excellent partners. It's a practical example of our promise that the tractor 'Reads Your Mind',” said Matti Tiitinen, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Valtra EME.

Behind the Scenes. Valtra T Series + Väderstad Tempo
Together with Väderstad, we set out to demonstrate what's possible when high-performance machinery, precision farming, and operator expertise come together. Eight weeks after planting, we returned to the field to evaluate the results. The outcome showed impressive crop establishment, 92% planting accuracy, and a uniform, healthy stand, proving that precision can go hand in hand with high productivity.
