a legendary powerhouse

ACGO engine, heart of Valtra tractor

The heart of your Valtra is the most reliable engine available.

Renowned for their durability, efficiency and extremely strong torque, AGCO Power engines have been the power source of Valtra tractors for over sixty years.

Advanced engine features ensure that Valtra tractors are reliable and comply with the latest emission standards without any increase in operating costs.

Clean power with Selective Catalytic Reduction

Valtra was the first manufacturer to introduce an SCR system on agricultural tractors. This system is now in its fourth generation.

Valtra’s SCR system is an extremely efficient after-treatment system. A urea and water solution is externally combined with exhaust gases. It is not mixed with the fuel, and the solution is held in an additional, separate tank.

By eliminating harmful nitrogen oxide emissions, the combustion in the engine can be made more efficient with four-valve technology and higher injection pressures. Efficient combustion also means improved fuel consumption – by up to 10% compared with previous engines. The SCR technology employed by Valtra utilises a combination of a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR).

The careful positioning of components and their optimal size (a combination of two different types of catalytic converter) allow the size of the tractor to be kept compact.

Valtra's SCR engines use only clean air, which helps prolong engine life. In addition, the use of AdBlue pays for itself through improved fuel efficiency. The SCR system is virtually maintenance free and does not require the maintenance or replacement of a diesel particulate filter.

EcoPower - Low-rev philosophy

Valtra EcoPower models let you choose between two different engine settings at the push of a button.

Valtra EcoPower tractors fully utilise the sturdiness and high-torque characteristics of AGCO Power engines at low revs. Compared with standard engines, the engine speed has been reduced by 400 rpm, while maintaining maximum torque in this range. This reduces fuel consumption by up to 10%.

Benefits of low-rev engines:

  • Rated speed of 1800 rpm
  • Max. torque at 1100/1200 rpm
  • Very high torque, even at 1000 rpm
  • Wide constant torque range
  • Low fuel consumption, approximately 10% lower than on engine's standard mode
  • Low emissions - environmentally friendly
  • Less waste oil
  • Less vibrations
  • Low piston speed: longer engine life

Low idle

The low idle speed means lower fuel consumption, less engine wear, and a more pleasant engine sound.

A great Valtra innovation, the low-idle feature comes as standard on common-rail models. When the driver stops the tractor and applies the handbrake, the engine speed automatically drops to just 650 rpm. In models with SCR technology, the idle speed is flexible and adjusts automatically if catalyst cooling is required after a hard run.

Valtra engine AGCO power 8.4AWS for S series

AGCO Power 8.4 AWF – revolutionary SCR technology

The reliable 8.4 AWF AGCO POWER engine is the key to the productivity of the S Series. The engine uses the latest AGCO POWER technology to comply with the Tier 4 final, stage 5 emissions standard. The same technology also ensures the reliability of the engine without any increase in operating costs. AGCO POWER’s SCR technology was introduced with the S Series back in 2008, making it the first tractor in the world to feature this technology.

Valtra engine AGCO power 66AWI and 67AWI for T series

AGCO Power 66 AWI and 74 AWI – the powerhouse of the T Series

The sturdy, reliable and high-torque engines on the T Series feature common-rail fuel injection. The engine idle speed is just 650 rpm, compared to around 850 rpm usually found on comparable engines. The lower engine idle speed significantly reduces fuel consumption and engine noise. SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology ensures that T Series tractors are fuel efficient, environmentally friendly and durable.

Valtra engine AGCO power 44AWI and 49AWI for N series

AGCO Power 44AWI and 49AWI – four-cylinder power

The common-rail engines of the larger N Series models feature precision multi-stage fuel injection at high pressure (1600/1800 bar), ensuring excellent efficiency and clean combustion. The radiator and intercooler are located next to each other to allow clean air into the engine, which in turn leads to cleaner emissions and lower fuel consumption. SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology makes N Series tractors extremely fuel efficient, environmentally friendly and durable.

Valtra engine AGCO power 33CTA for A series

AGCO Power 33CTA – a compact powerhouse

The third-generation 3-cylinder AGCO Power 33CTA common-rail engine is the heart of the A Series HiTech models. The SisuTronic EEM3 electronic engine management system can adjust the fuel injection by up to five times per combustion. The 33CTA is a quiet engine that still offers a lot of power and torque. The engine complies with EU Stage 3A emissions regulations.
