CO2 Calculator

Detect fuel type and report drive CO2 emissions

AGCO Power CO2 Calculator concept detects the fuel type used, calculates emissions, and enables data sharing. It supports the farmers in their transition from fossil diesel to more sustainable lower-carbon alternatives.

AGCO Power CO2 Calculator concept is the first to offer a functional, holistic solution for farmers to capture, calculate, authenticate and share accurate CO2 footprint data from their operations. The concept consists of an engine fuel sensor combined with a cloud-based software solution. The fuel sensor can detect the type of diesel fuel as well as its amount in the tank (fossil diesel, renewable diesel, bio-diesel) and the real-time data is sent to the cloud, where accurate CO2 emissions are calculated. 

In the concept, the fuel-type detection & tracking is made available in Valtra S series tractors as an option package that includes the sensor & online portal for accessing captured data and to download reports and certificates. 

Combined with GPS-based location data and individual machine or fleet level data, the concept gives a clear yet detailed view of the carbon footprint of the farmer’s operation from an overview all the way down to a single machine, field or crop.

AGCO Power 84LXTN 8,4-liter HVO compatible diesel engine.

The Valtra S Series uses the 100 % HVO-compatible AGCO Power 84LXTN engine. Replacing fossil diesel with HVO can cut greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90 % without compromising performance or reliability.

In combination with the S Series' smooth and efficient CVT transmission, you get supersized savings with 5 to 7% lower revs, and 7 to 15 % lower fuel consumption.

Sustainably fuelled

Your S Series comes with Neste MY Renewable Diesel for proven emissions reductions of up to 90%*

Neste MY Renewable Diesel is a fuel made from 100% renewable raw materials and reduces greenhouse gas emissions 90%* when emissions over the fuel’s life cycle are compared to fossil diesel. 

Neste and Valtra have collaborated since 2017, when Valtra became the first tractor factory in the world to fill its new tractors with Neste MY Renewable Diesel. Since then, Valtra has used 5 million liters of Neste MY Renewable Diesel, preventing over 15 000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions from entering the atmosphere. Read more here

Compatibility: Neste MY Renewable Diesel is fully compatible with all diesel engines and diesel fuel distribution infrastructures – from the refinery to the service stations and the end users. Neste MY Renewable Diesel has a similar chemical composition as fossil diesel. This means that the fuel is a drop-in replacement for fossil diesel.

No aromatics or impurities: Unlike fossil diesel, Neste MY Renewable Diesel does not contain aromatics or impurities. This allows the fuel to combust with maximum efficiency. The high cetane number ensures an efficient and clean combustion, which means it keeps the engine cleaner than traditional biodiesel (FAME). Neste MY Renewable Diesel is a hydrotreated vegetable oil, also referred to as HVO100, which is different from traditional biodiesel FAME (fatty acid methyl ester) or RME (rapeseed oil methyl ester) produced through esterification.

The S Series has one of the most comfortable cabs of any tractor. Since its launch at Agritechnica 2023, the 6th generation S Series has gained international recognition, winning all three major design awards in one year, and a Red Dot Best of the Best award – two things no tractor has ever achieved before.  The Red Dot jury noted that "Functionality, safety and formal clarity are combined at a high level. Innovative details and optimised ergonomics increase suitability for everyday use."

Stay cool for less fuel

The glass in the S Series cab has a special tinted surface. This reflects more of the sun's energy, reducing the need for airconditioning, thus lowering fuel consumption during hot days.  

Sustainably built for sustainability.

MSK Group played a key role in developing the cab of the Valtra S Series. By utilising cold-formed steel sheets produced through innovative methods in the steel supply chain, MSK achieves a 68% reduction in CO₂ emissions in raw materials. Additionally, the use of advanced materials enables a 40% reduction in CO₂ emissions from drawn metal parts in the cabin frame. Alternative materials for profile tube structures in the cabin can further reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 69%. 

In plastic components, MSK applies recycling processes that allow for material-specific reductions of several tens of percent in CO₂ emissions.
