The Swiss Future Farm is located on a farm site that has been managed under authentic conditions for many years. The life of the farm resembles a normal Thurgau farm in almost every way. Cows, goats and pigs are raised, and wheat, corn, oilseed rape and beet are cultivated. The changing seasons determine what work needs to be done.
High above the town of Lajoux, located in the Franches-Montagnes region, the Sous les Cerneux farm nestles perfectly amidst the landscape of the Jura. Operated by the Jolidon brothers, the farm is a reflection of the tranquillity and traditionalism of the region.
Brothers Kristian and Ole on the Kylstad farm in Furnes, Norway inherited the father's interest in machines. All three of them operate a Valtra, and none of them can imagine exchanging it for anything else. They actually tried one time, but the result was not so good.

“If you are driving rows of potato ridges without automated steering, you’ll spend all of your time staring at if the right wheel is on the line, while the sun is shining in your eye and there is a lot of dust. Shoulders will be sore after such precise steering and even smaller bends are replicated to the following lines. With automated steering, the operator won’t get tired, can manage more hectares more precisely and efficiently”, explains farmer Tero Koivuranta.

We travelled to Rouen, headquarters of France’s North West Interdepartmental Road Directorate, to meet users of Valtra tractors and Noremat implements.
Øyvind Furulund from Rogne i Øystre Slidre in Norway had both his tractors break down and got no help. Akershus Traktor came to the rescue and within a year he had purchased two Valtras. He uses them to clear snow on the side roads along Highway 51 between Fagernes and Beitostølen.

The Halli airport has a runway of 2.6 kilometres. Cleaning the wide runway during a snowfall requires driving dozens of kilometres. The Valtra T254 Versu is equipped with a 5.6 metre plow in the front and a brush and blower in the back.
